Lilly Perry
geb. 1928, USAI left Vienna in 1938 and went with my family to the U.S. There I went to school, graduated from college, received my M.A. degree. I was a teacher in NYC for 27 years. I married Dr. Alexander Perry in 1956 and have 2 sons, 1 daughter, and 5 grandchildren. One son and my daughter are physicians and the other son has a Ph.D. degree. “ I am so honored to have been able to participate in the ,A Letter To The Stars’ program. The participating students, their teachers and all the wonderful people involved in the program are to be commended for the important work they are doing to ensure that an event like the Holocaust will never happen again. It takes great courage to confront the past in order to have a better future. Seeing the sincerity and interest of the students has restored my faith and hope for the future. In Judaism there is a concept called "Tikun Olam" which means repairing the world and I believe that the important work that is now taking place in Austria involving the students is a great step in this direction. I want to express my admiration and appreciation to all those who are so dedicated and involved in this program. Thank you for inviting me and my granddaughter to witness the result of your important work. I am looking forward to being in Austria to participate in the wonderful events you have planned to commemorate the victims as well as the survivors of the Holocaust. Keep up and continue in your important work!“
